BotsREN 2025 Workshop: Uniting Institutions of Research and Education for shared knowledge and Resources

The Botswana Research and Education Network (BotsREN) in collaboration with the University of Botswana held a knowledge workshop for research and education institutions,  on 23rd January 2025, at the University of Botswana Conference Centre. The workshop, themed “Uniting Institutions of Research and Education for Shared Knowledge and Resources”, brought together senior leaders from across Botswana’s research and education institutions to explore opportunities for increased collaboration and resource sharing across the research and education institutions.

The workshop kicked off with an overview presentation by an expert on collaboration and sharing of assets for research and education, Mr Warren La Fleur, co-founder of Koya Capital.  

Koya Capital is a learning transformation consultancy that works synergistically with Governments, Academia, Development, Financing & Technology Partners, Parents and Communities to develop skills for the 21st century world of work. Warren was joined by Honourable Minister of Communication and Innovation, Honourable David Tshere, in a a Ministerial fireside chat to explore of Government can collaborate with Research and Education institutions and private sector to enable Botswana’s research and education community to thrive.

Almost 30 research and education institutions, public and private, were represented, including development partners such as UNDP.
